This seems to capture the essence of our problem. I absolutely agree with what the President says here. Unfortunately, our enemies can make exactly the same claim, with equal justification.

I'd be unsurprised to see an article quoting Al-Zawahiri using very similar language, about how the war against Zionist Crusaiders has not caused hatred of Islam, but is only an excuse for building oil pipelines in Afghanistan, military bases in Iraq, etc.
